April 12, 2007 - Berg Companies highlight E.S.P. Systems during JACOTAS Exhibition

(Spokane, Wash.) Representatives from the BERG Companies will showcase some of their premier products at the upcoming bi-annual meeting of the Department of Defense Joint Committee on Tactical Shelters (JACOTAS) and the Rigid Wall and Soft Wall Shelter Industry and Exhibition from April 30 to May 2, 2007 at Panama City Beach, Florida.

"We look forward to setting up at JACOTAS to provide opportunities for everyone to learn more about the Expandable Shelter Platform system," Andy Barrett, President of BERG Companies said. "Our product is the premier, hard-sided, 3-in-1 shelter that we are really excited to show off."

The ESP structure is called a remote site integrated system, or also a 3-in-1, because of walls on both sides of a core, ISO shipping container that expand to provide three-times the space inside the structure. The ESP systems can be employed in remote sites, and can also be integrated with various features or functions to suit target markets such as the military, humanitarian aid and disaster relief work, along with organizations conducting exploration and field studies.

There are many types of uses for ESP systems including:

  • Kitchens / Dining Facilities
  • Showers
  • Latrines
  • Billeting
  • Executive Offices
  • Medical Facilities
  • Security Units
  • Water Treatment Units
  • Laboratory Facilities

"The BERG Companies are uniquely situated in the marketplace because we are not just integrators," said Barrett. "About 95 percent of each Expandable Shelter Platform system is built right in Plummer, Idaho at our BERG Integrated Systems facilities. We are not just another middleman that integrates—we have the depth and capacity to build the structure and integrate for the customers’ needs."

Additional features on an ESP system can include:

  • Air-conditioning
  • Window packages
  • Full lighting installation
  • Flooring installation
  • Anti-ballistic siding
  • Customized lighting and alarm systems
  • On-board power generation
  • Environmental control systems such as heating and air filtration
  • Utility packages including water treatment and purification
